Tibia’s Renewal

Finally, Banor went back with the Gods asking for help and they listened to his prayers. Once again, it was the clever Uman who found a solution, a solution that was possible because he had made an amazing discovery: he had discovered that beyond the fabric of existence lay other dimensions, planes far away in which even the elder Gods had no power. However, Uman had found a way to establish a connection to these alternate planes of existence and, after much experimentation, had learned that it was possible to conjure the souls of living creatures from these planes. When they were brought to Tibia, these souls could turn into human form, forming the champions that the human race needed desperately. This was the answer to the human issues, and quickly was put into practice. The Gods planted a series of magical gates in Tibia, gates that were soon called Portals of Souls. Through these gates, a constant flow of heroes poured into the world, human warriors who were both canny and brave, and with the help of these champions, the abominable hordes were slowly but surely repulsed. At last it seemed that order was being restored.

The things seemed more brilliant for the human race, more than it had been for a long time. The allied powers of heroes and humans advanced deeper and deeper into enemy territory, and the dark hordes seemed to be on the verge of total defeat. But oh! Those who believed that the old races would now be erased off the face of Tibia forever were a bit hasty, because something unexpected happened. With the seemingly overwhelming power of the human armies, the ancient races did what had been unthinkable for eons: they called a truce. Dragons, orcs, undead, and all those other races that had been fighting each other for so long suddenly stopped attacking each other and concentrated on their war against the human race. And so it happened that again things got worse. Even though their enemies didn’t trust each other enough to form an alliance worthy of mentioning, just the fact that they stopped fighting each other put the human race in a very precarious position. Their advance was soon stopped, and once again they were forced to go on the defensive.

The human armies decided to retreat to their secured cities to resume war there, but again they made an astonishing discovery. But this time, for the first time in history, the enemies of the humans didn’t run to them to fight. Many were confused by this, because it wasn’t clear why the hordes were acting this way. A common theory was that the tensions and mutual mistrust between the old races was too strong for them to combine their forces in a sustained campaign, some even claimed that they had begun to get rid of war against each other once more. Others suggested that the old races had been exhausted over the course of the many wars, while others implied that perhaps a balance had been reached, a status quo that all sides felt they could live with. Whatever was the reason, a period of uneasy but basically stable peace followed, and lasts to this day. For the first time, the troubled world would finally breathe after the ceaseless kills that lasted many eons.

Humans benefit from this opportunity. Under the wise guidance of the Thai kings, direct descendants of Banor, the race is experiencing a golden age. The arts and sciences flourished, and many prosperous cities were funded. Undoubtedly, the expansion of humans has met fierce resistance, and indeed, the intrepid heroes who still enter this world from the mysterious Portals of Souls are busy enough to fight the constant threat by all kinds of hostile creatures. But until now the peace has lasted, and under the protection of the human race, finally this has been declared the dominant species on Tibia. However, there are unsettling signs that this glorious era could slowly find its end. Because the old enemies have never been defeated, and now it seems they are more uneasy. The ferocious orcs are on the move once again, attacking human settlements and sometimes even major cities in ruthless and well-coordinated attacks. The undead are walking on earth again, instilling fear in the hearts of the living. There are even disconcerting reports that dragons that have lain dormant for centuries are once again leaving their hidden lairs to hunt. The worst thing is that the humans, that curious race, have started to fight between them, and once again the issue has led to armed conflicts. Over time, some humans even gave up the rule of the Thai kings and founded their own cities and empires. This might be one of the evil strategies of Zathroth. It’s well known that his most diabolic minions, the scary demons, lie in wait in the dark, waiting for their moment. Who knows, maybe Tibia it’s on the edge of another cataclysmic war, and a new twilight will set on the world. Just the time knows what will happen in the future to Tibia. Let’s wait and hope that the union of humans won’t break just when it’s needed the most.
